Trip Diary stores no media at all. You paste a link to a file you already host, and the diary draws a thumbnail from it:

One page per day. Write the day as a whole first, then add the individual moments worth their own paragraph — a walk, a meal, a train ride. Empty days are normal; not every day of a trip needs writing about.
Paste a link to a photo or video you already host. The diary checks the link straight away and shows the picture, so you find out immediately if a file is not shared publicly.
Export a .tsk file, or sign in and save it online. When you are ready, export the whole trip as a blog post in Markdown or HTML and paste it wherever you publish.
A day with three paragraphs and no photos looks complete. Media decorates the writing; it never replaces it.
Your photos stay wherever you already keep them. The diary holds links, not files, and lives in your browser until you choose otherwise.
